The Department's lecturers teach more than 30 courses. There are standard courses for bachelors in specialties 091 Biology ("Botany: Algology and Mycology" and "Botany: The Vascular Plants") and 014 Secondary Education ("The Plant and Fungi Biology" (the part "Plants"). Also, we teach standard courses for master's degree students in specialties 091 Biology ("Systems Biology") and 014 Secondary Education ("Career Management"). In addition, masters of biology may select courses "Intellectual Property" or "Factors of successful employment in the specialty". Specialized disciplines and practices are available for bachelors and masters specializing in botany.
Our officers provide the field practice for the 1st and 2nd-years biology students in the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University's Biological Station (Haidary village, Zmiiv district, the Kharkiv region). The 3rd-year students specializing in Botany also have field practice. They visit the National Nature Parks of the Kharkiv region – "Slobozhanskii", "Homilshanskii Lisy", and "Dvorichanskii" National Nature Parks.
Department of Botany and Plant Ecology offers four elective courses for students with non-biological specialties from our University. All of them have full groups of students.
More than 80% of our courses are available on Moodle platform for distance education.
